Last month, the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment (FKAB) at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysaia transformed the Akademia Siber Teknopolis (AST) into a vibrant hub of global collaboration. The event, "Malaysia-Germany: Bridging Research & Expert Exchange," was held in conjunction with R!CH 2025 (Research, Innovation & Commercialization Highlights) to celebrate and expand upon decades of academic synergy. The cornerstone of the event was the showcase of the deep-rooted partnership between UKM and the University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE). For over 20 years, this collaboration has served as a vital bridge, enabling students and researchers to cross-pollinate ideas between the Malaysian and German engineering landscapes.
- The Product Directory Launch: A new roadmap for industries to discover market-ready technology developed right here at UKM
- Licensing Success: The ceremony featured the presentation of licensing checks to researchers whose inventions have officially transitioned from the lab to the commercial sector.
- DAAD Funding: For students and young researchers, the sessions on Research Funding and Grant Opportunities in Germany were a goldmine of information for international career advancement.
- German Day: A dedicated exhibition and seminar series focusing UKM-UDE Dual Degree Program, International Studies in Engineering (ISE) by UDE and UDE FIT-Program, designed to support international students in their academic journey.
The event concluded as a resounding success, proving that when we bridge borders, we accelerate progress
