Mercator Science & Education (MSE) invites all prospective students of International Studies in Engineering (ISE), University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE) to join Intercultural Communication Competence (ICC) 2026 course. Organized directly by the UDE as part of the broader DAAD-FIT Project ("Engineering Talents for Germany"), this free online program is designed to give you a head start in academic and everyday life in Germany. The FIT Initiative ("Promotion of International Talents for Integration into Studies and the Labour Market") is funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) and supported by the DAAD.

Spanning from 2024 to 2028, the FIT program at UDE provides international students with end-to-end support throughout their academic journey and career launch in Germany:

• Academic & Language Support: German language courses up to C1 level and study preparation (e.g., Get Ready@UDE orientation).
• Intercultural Training: Practical workshops—like the ICC Course—to navigate university culture and social life in Germany.
• Career & Integration: Intensive job application coaching, LinkedIn profile workshops, networking events with industry partners, and guidance on navigating the German job market.

ICC Course Highlights

• Expert Guidance: Taught by Dipl.-Region.-Wiss. Stefanie L. Hegger, an expert with extensive experience teaching intercultural competence tailored to Asia and Germany.
• Free Personal 1:1 Session: Receive individual support and get answers to your personal questions about living and studying abroad.
• Official Certification: Earn an ICC Certificate upon successful completion (part of the FIT "Fit for the Job" certificate series) to enhance your academic and professional CV.
