On 23 April 2026, the Mercator Office, the Liaison office of the FIW-UDE in Indonesia, represented by Mrs. Dita Adithia and Mrs. Okti Halimurti, held the first briefing session at STEI ITB for prospective students. The event brought together enthusiastic undergraduates from both the regular and IUP tracks, as well as key academic leaders, including Dr. Ing. Chairunnisa, S.T., M.T., Head of the Telecommunications Engineering Study Program, and the Study Program Secretary.

During the session, students received comprehensive insights into what lies ahead on their academic journey across the German-Indonesian border. Key topics included:

• An in-depth introduction to the ISE study program of Faculty Engineering University of Duisburg-Essen
• Admission requirements and the application process for the Double Degree program.
• German language proficiency expectations, emphasizing the importance of language preparation for academic and cultural integration.
• Guidance on visa application procedures, student accommodation options, and other essential logistical support.

The collaboration aims to launch its first batch with students from the 2024 intake at STEI ITB embarking on their studies at UDE for the Winter Semester 2027/2028.
